It’s wintertime it’s 12 degrees outside which for Sydney is FREEZING, but that doesn’t stop another Ben & Jerry’s ice cream review!
Peanut butter half baked (limited batch)!
Chocolate and peanut butter icecream swirled with chunks of peanut butter cookie dough and fudge brownies!
Whys it limited batch, how bloody annoying, this one’s right up there with the best! It’s bloody marvelous!
Chocolate and peanut butter is the best combination, sorry yanks not peanut butter and jam.
The cookie dough is chewy and really like cookie dough texture. I think the only think stopping it getting a perfect 10 would be to have some real whole peanuts in there.
Courtney has a huge bonfire at her property in north west Sydney once a year and invites around 50 people to see it go up in smoke. Unfortunately two bunny rabbits got toasted as well 🙁
Sanna and I did a quick Sydney day trip to the old historic village of St Albans, 2 hours drive North of Sydney’s CBD. Its a very quiet tiny Aussie town/village.
Traditional old Aussie style buildings are throughout the village.
We went on a bushwalk to the Convict built ‘Old Great North Road’
Leg irons were worn by the Convicts as they worked to build the road.
I tried on the leg irons for size, they are really heavy
This was hangman’s rock where they used to hang the convicts through the hole from a tree.
Sanna filling out the visitors book on the trail
and after the bushwalk a nice hot lunch followed by rhubarb crumble and a pot of tea to share in front of the Settlers Arms open fire.
Sydney is taking a real battering at the moment. It hasn’t stopped raining HARD in 2 days. Worst storm in rain and wind strength in 5 years they say. 3 people are dead so far from flooding.
The city cannot cope with this much rain on its streets. Broken umbrellas lay abandoned on the streets, girls screaming from the rain, sirens from ambalances every 5 minutes.
Outside of Sydney people are without power, generators are sold out and there are waiting lists for the next delivery. .
Outside the Cousin Jacks store the large umbrella got torn down by the wind narrowing missing people.
This Easter long weekend all the family went to stay at Sannas mums holiday house she is building at Lake Conjola 3.5 hrs drive south of Sydney.
We hired a couple of small boats for 3 hours for $70 each and went for a explore.
Basima and me were steering all the way. I was wearing Basma’s sunnies and school girl hat, i didnt take mine, it was expecting to rain all weekend.
We stopped at a small village called ‘Fishermans Paradise’ and played on the rope swing with the local kids.
On the way back it was so shallow we grounded out a few times on the sandy bottom.
In the afternoon Sanna and I walked over to Green Island which is only accessible over the black rocks at low tide. The island felt nice and remote, no evidence of other people on the island.
