Troy & Ali’s Wedding
Our good friends Troy and Ali were wedded on Saturday 2th March 2015. I was honoured to take part at my best friends wedding as the best man. I always tell Sanna I’m the Best man, and now to her annoyance she had to agree to me all day
We couldn’t have asked for better weather, it was sunny and in the mid 20’s. The guests arrive for the wedding at the Lovely ‘One more shot pond’ in Sydney Centennial park.
The boys Troy, Mark, Brother Justin and friend Chris line up waiting for the bridal party.
The bride and bridesmaids arrive.
Time to be wedded by the Minister (hiding behind Ali in the photo), who was a lovely guy originally from Northern Ireland.
Sanna look beautiful on the day too, our puppy Damien came too
The Reception was held at in ‘The Atrium’ at the ‘The Grounds’ of Alexandra. It was a garden party theme, I stupidly forgot to take any photos of the reception, just one of the bridal party table. But you can see the place much better in the below video of my Best Man speech.
On the side of the reception room there was a lovely ‘men den’ of a room, fitted out will a bar and all old things and lots of Whiskies, I pretended to serve Damien some Whiskies.
A photo of the Cousin Jacks team!
My Best Man’s speech went down pretty well, made everyone laugh a bit. Click here to watch full screen
Here’s a copy of my speech for historic sake:
My speech today will be like a mini-skirt. Long enough to cover the essentials but short enough to hold your attention!

Bondi iceburgs beers
We had a really busy fully packed weekend this week, work, staying at Sannas mums in Wollongong, beach walk and lunch with Brendon and Sam, then finished at the celeb hangout of Bondi Icebergs for beer and food with Damien and Max before he goes to travel New Zealand. Jam packed weekend, no rest.
Bon voyage Max!
World famous views of Bondi Beach
Here is a quick photo of us climbing up the rope from the beach by Brendons house in Scarbrough.
Doom on AWS (Amazon Web Services)
I just spent a geeky afternoon creating my first public AMI (Amazon Machine Image) think VM Template in VMware speak, on AWS (Amazon Web Services), of course it had to be dedicated to my old favourite DOOM . There are no games on the AWS community marketplace so this is the first, what better way to test out the cloud than playing a 90’s classic game J
Or deploy your own instance from the AWS community marketplace, just search for ‘doom’, deploy the instance with defaults and the username: administrator password: doomgame
Here it is running, you can run it in a window or full screen. It runs a little bit slow but its fast enough to play and all sound effects and music is working although there is around a ½ second delay on the sound effects. I think the delay on the sound and framerate is not the CPU power of the AWS instance as it isn’t maxing out CPU, I think its remote desktop client struggling, anyway have fun.
Maggie Beer sorry parcel
Take note of great customer service. I ordered some food items from Maggie Beer the celebrity chef from Adelaide and it arrived too late before Christmas so I couldn’t take it to take my family.
I wrote to her, and to say sorry she sent me 3 little jars in a ‘sorry parcel’ and an apology note. Thats really good customer service.
Marks HD Wallpaper Pack
I’ve collected up all my favourite HD wallpapers from over the past few years into one giant wallpaper pack to download and share, hope you enjoy them
Spit to Manly walk
This is my mums favorite walk when she visits Sydney, the Spit bridge to Manly walk, about a 2 hour walk. We walked with Steve and Damien. Beautiful views of Sydney harbour all along the way. We are very lucky this is just a 10 minute trip away from where we live.
Following the track along the waters edge.
Great lookouts along the way.
And as it was 31° a cold beer at the end was so satisfying.
Hummer H1 dune bashing
On new years day there were no hangovers present for a change, so we took up Brendons invite to head North to Newcastles 15 km beach your allowed to drive along, and test his massive Hummer out on the sand.
HUMMER H1 can seat 4 or 6 depending on how many seats are in. Its weight is 2.6 tons! The Hummer can let all 4 of its huge tyres up and down with a press of a button in the cockpit.
We went with a few others who brought a excellent condition 2012 Land Rover Defender, I think everyone loves these at the moment.
There were huge blue jelly fish all washed up on the sand, all as big as my whole hand!
After the beach, Sanna Damien and me went for a walk through the hot sandy forest.
